Vocational programs to assist in your return to work

To help you return to work, a number of incentives are available to offer employers. You can discuss these with companies directly and/or Kairros can do this on your behalf.

Work trial

This provides you and the employer the opportunity to trial the duties of a role, gradually improve your confidence and capacity, or prove yourself as a valuable and productive employee. A work trial requires a worksite assessment and approval from your Nominated Treating Doctor, as well as your insurer. You have access to a total of 12 weeks of work trials over the life of your claim, so we usually recommend you only spend 4-6 weeks at any single employer. More information is available here.

Connect 2 Work

This program is a variation of the Work Trial program, which offers the host employer $200 per week, in order to encourage participation by host employers. This program requires a minimum of 15 working hours per week. More information is available here.

Job Cover Placement Program (JCPP)

This program includes payments made to an employer after 12 weeks, 26 weeks and 52 weeks of paid employment, for a minimum of 64 hours per month. Employment must be permanent or for a fixed term contract of at least 12 months. The payments total $27,400 over 12 months. More information is available here.

Job Cover 6

This is a shortened version of the JCPP, which requires permanent employment or a fixed term contract of at least 6 months. However, unlike JCPP, there is no minimum requirement of hours each month. More information is available here.

Transition To Work Program

This program aims to overcome barriers to you accepting an offer of employment. Payment can be made for courses, clothing or other expenses following a written offer of employment. This program is capped at $5,000. An additional $200 in funding is available to assist you in the job seeking process, such as buying appropriate clothes to wear to an interview. More information is available here.

New Employment Assistance Payments

This program also aims to overcome barriers to employment and requires a shorter pathway than Transition To Work. Via this program, you may be reimbursed up to $1,000 for expenses associated with accepting an offer of new employment. More information is available here.
