Nathan's Transcript
My name's Nathan Archer, I'm the Business Manager at Kairros and I'm an Occupational Therapist by background. Through going outside of the norm Kairros has been able to sustain relationships with employers for a long period of time.
When I've worked at other providers before, particularly when I worked overseas, it was much more business orientated where staff were just told 'you need to do this' there was no reasoning behind it whereas, since I've been here I like to give staff the opportunity to understand where we're working and why we are working together and give them lots of opportunities to develop and meet with insurers, take referrals for big employers that usually would need much more experience to do.
I think in general its been an experience for me to grow as a Manager and also to drive Kairros results. We do have a niche in the fact that we are a boutique provider, our niche market is non-english speaking or culturally linguistically diverse. We have Arabic, Macedonian, Serbian, Mandarin job search assistants and being able to provide services that other providers don’t.
If you think a person is off work between 3 -5 years, they’ve sat at home for 18 months – 2 years recovering after that we come out and start talking to them, ‘we think you may be able to get a job’ they’re over the moon generally and with the guys at Liverpool and Blacktown if they can just get one person and change one persons life that’s been a good day for the Case Manager and for the whole company.
